What ATourOf knows, and how it knows it.
Different sources have different evidentiary weight. ATourOf keeps them separate instead of flattening everything into one unlabeled record.
Contractor-submitted project data
Participating remodelers can provide photos, project location, dimensions, scope, materials, brands, component costs and final cost or a cost range. Submitted values are labeled as contractor-reported and can be kept private.
Contractor confirmations
Machine-observed project attributes can be shown back to the contractor for confirmation or correction. Confirmed observations carry more weight than unreviewed visual guesses.
Public project examples
ATourOf also publishes project examples assembled from available project information and modeled cost context. Unless a page specifically identifies an actual contractor-confirmed cost, displayed ranges should be understood as estimates.
Official contractor sources
Contractor websites and official portfolio pages may support entity details, services, specialties and published pricing guidance. Source evidence is stored separately where available.
Ratings and third-party data
Third-party ratings may be displayed as contextual information when present, but they are not represented as ATourOf-authored reviews. Structured data is kept conservative where provenance is unclear.
AI-generated observations
AI is used for extraction and organization, not as an independent source of hidden facts. See the methodology for the rules governing visual analysis.
