Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Account information. When you create an account or sign in, we collect your email address and the account type you choose (homeowner or contractor). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, whether Google has verified that email, and your Google account ID. We do not receive your Google password.
• Homeowner project details. The ZIP code, project stage, timeline and budget you enter in your account, and the requests you send to contractors (name, email, phone, ZIP code, project details and any message or photo you include).
• Contractor information. Business profile details, completed project records, photos, costs and scope you submit or confirm, claim requests, and API keys you create (stored only as a one-way hash).
• Public business information. Contractor profiles and found projects may be assembled from contractors’ own public websites and listings. Contractors can claim, correct or remove these.
• Technical information. A sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in, and a one-way hash of your IP address used only to limit form abuse. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
• Site usage analytics. On public pages we use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use the site (clicks, scrolling and page views) so we can improve it. Clarity sets its own cookies and records page interactions with form fields and contact details masked; it does not run on account, contractor workspace, sign-in or admin pages. How we use information

To create and secure your account, sign you in, and show you the right dashboard; to respond to and route your requests; to operate contractor profiles, project comparisons and cost ranges; to send service emails such as sign-in links and claim links; to prevent abuse; and to improve ATourOf. We do not sell personal information.

Contractors may mark exact project costs private while still allowing them to support private project intelligence. Public display and model use are controlled separately.

Google sign-in

If you choose “Continue with Google”, ATourOf requests only the basic OpenID scopes (openid, email and profile). We use that information only to create or sign in to your ATourOf account and to show your name and email in it. We do not access your Gmail, contacts, Drive or any other Google data, we do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not transfer it to third parties except as needed to run the service described here.

ATourOf’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can remove ATourOf’s access at any time from your Google Account’s security settings.

When information is shared

• Contractors you contact. A request goes to the contractor you chose, or, when you ask to compare remodelers, to up to three matched contractors. They receive your name, email, phone and project details so they can reply. A contractor who hasn’t claimed their ATourOf profile is told about the project without your contact details until they claim it.
• Service providers that host and run ATourOf for us: Cloudflare (hosting, database, file storage and email delivery), Google (sign-in, if you use it), Microsoft (Clarity site analytics) and Cloudinary (some older project photos). They process data on our behalf.
• Public profiles. Contractor business details and approved project photos appear publicly. Homeowner contact details and exact project addresses are never published.
• Legal reasons, when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of ATourOf and its users.

Retention and deletion

We keep account and project information while your account is active and as needed to run the service. Sign-in links expire after 30 minutes and sign-in sessions after 30 days. To delete your account and associated personal information, or to correct a contractor profile, email hello@atourof.com from the address on your account.

Security

Sign-in links, sessions and API keys are stored as one-way hashes, and all traffic uses HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access.

Children

ATourOf is for adults 18 and older and is not directed to children. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email hello@atourof.com and we will delete it.
